Big Step!
I am testing the way this works by opening it up for a few people to see before I allow everyone to see or post to the Blog. Any suggestions? My plan is for all CCPS librarians and assistants to be able to use this to communicate ideas and problems they may encounter. It is sort of like the list serves but local view points that benefit CCPS. We have a talented, passionate gang of folks in CCPS so I look forward to many posts and comments.

Patsy, what a great idea! Thanks for including me. While I'm only in the library right now for a small part of the day, I'm in the home stretch for finishing my endorsement, and would love to be in a library next fall (wishful thinking, I know). I have, however, been hired as a summer school librarian at Bettie Weaver Elementary (where I am an instructional assistant the rest of the time), so I'm really looking forward to getting my feet wet, librarian-wise. I'll be happy to have this blog to get/share information and tips!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy!
ReplyDeleteWow, Patsy, I'm very impressed! You go Girl! This is an awesome idea. I added my school email address, so hopfully I can get here through our firewall. It will be interesting to see if people will join and add their thoughts. Hopefully this won't get as overwhelming as the LM_Net. That is too much for me. I just delete, delete, and delete some more to keep my mail box cleaned out. Maybe when I'm not doing so much research, reading and writing papers, and complete projects, I may have time to actually read some of the comments!
ReplyDeleteKudos to you, Patsy! This is an awesome tool to help CCPS librarians stay connected. LM_Net and VEMA are great, but what happens when you need something locally or tangible? This would allow librarians to develop support and camaraderie locally with the added option of the pony mail system. I remember while taking YA Lit, I called around because I needed some titles from a middle/high school library (I work in an elementary school). Not only did I get some books pony mailed to me, one librarian left one on her front porch so that I could pick it up at my convenience!! That’s what I called going above and beyond the call of duty, and I’m glad to be joining those ranks! This blog would allow quicker an easier access to so many resources. Great idea, Patsy! I look forward to following your blog for many years to come!
